“This is a minimalist heavily textured abstract painting created with palette knives and non-traditional tools,” says Ukrainian artist Oleksandr Balbyshev. “The artwork is inspired by the supremacism of the early 20th century.”

“This geometric abstraction addresses the inherently two-dimensional nature of the picture plane as well as the canvas functioning as its support. In the composition of the painting, I use different colours to understand how they work together on a bright background,” he adds.
