Aquamarine - Greer Smith

“I was inspired by the nature of Hong Kong to make this artwork—the mountains, nature, blue skies. It was particularly inspired by hiking and beach adventures in Sai Kung,” says artist Greer Howland Smith. “I started this artwork in 2018 and finished it in 2021 [while] in my studio in New York City reminiscing about Hong Kong. It has three to four layers of paint and ink, and I also used masking fluid in fine lines to make the delicate line of the plants. I want other people to feel the exuberance and positive energy of nature when they look at this piece.”
