"I painted this in support of Ukraine, depicting a traditional Ukrainian scene—a field full of bright yellow sunflowers and a small house nestled amongst them. If you look closely, it also represents the Ukrainian flag,” says artist Anatoly Kidder.
Though he works as a customer relationship professional specialising in IT, Anatoly Kidder also has a deep love for art and painting and has recently begun to use his art as a way to express his feelings about the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Kidder studied in Moscow but left Russia in 1986 as a political refugee, and now lives in Los Angeles. “My parents are from Ukraine and Belarus, and I’m extremely concerned about Putin’s war against Ukraine,” Kidder says. “It’s really painful for us, and I actively support Ukrainian efforts to win the war.”
