“I created this piece during vacation at my country house in Ukraine, a place where I have spent a lot of time since childhood,” says artist Anna Savvi. “It was summer—my favourite time of the year. My family and I spent a lot of time together before the war separated us. I remember every day my dad served the most delicious and sweetest watermelon. We sat talking, watching the sun's rays shimmer over the velvety watermelon. This piece reminds me of the warmest feelings, family, peace and summer.”
“But now these are just pleasant memories found only in my painting. Because of the war, I was forced to leave Ukraine and had no opportunity to go to our beloved country house. Luckily, our country house now became a shelter for several families who lost everything they had. Unfortunately, they will not taste watermelons this summer, as the territory with plantations is under Russian occupation.”

What is a Giclée Print? The word “Giclée” is French for “sprayed ink.” Today, the term is used to describe a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process which creates the highest quality fine art reproductions. All of our inhouse prints are manufactured in this way. Giclée printing offers extra-fine image resolution, helping to retain a higher degree of detail from the original fine art or photographic images.
